Opening Doors, Changing Lives: A Heartfelt Thank You to No1 CopperPot

At Reconnected, our mission has always been simple but profound: to offer people a second chance, a safe space, and a pathway to rebuild their lives after homelessness. Every person who walks through our doors carries their own story. Some are taking their first tentative steps towards stability; others are finding their way back after years of hardship. But one thing stays constant: none of it happens without the incredible generosity of our supporters.

Today, we want to shine a very special spotlight on one of those supporters: No1 CopperPot Credit Union.

Thanks to the generosity of No1 CopperPot, one of the rooms in our hub is now fully sponsored for an entire year. But this is about much more than simply covering the cost of four walls and a roof. It means someone will sleep safely tonight. Someone will finally exhale, make a phone call to family, prepare for a job interview, or sit quietly and start to believe that life can get better. It means hope has a place to live.

Caroline Domanski MBE, Chief Executive Officer at No1 CopperPot, captured the heart of their support perfectly:

“At No1 CopperPot we believe in people helping people, it’s at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to support Reconnected and be part of an initiative that opens the door to something everyone deserves, a safe space.”

Fred Duncan, our Operations Director at Reconnected, added:

“Support like this from No1 CopperPot doesn’t just provide a roof. It creates breathing space — that pause so many people desperately need to take stock, rebuild, and start again. It’s a partnership that helps us deliver real, lasting change.”

Why Partnerships Like This Matter

At Reconnected, we understand that homelessness is rarely about bricks and mortar alone. It’s the result of trauma, loss, poor mental health, sudden crisis, and the fragile safety nets that too often fail people. Our work isn’t about short-term fixes. It’s about long-term rebuilding. That takes time, trust, and consistent support.

And we can’t do it alone.

Room sponsors like No1 CopperPot are central to this mission. Every sponsored room means we can say “yes” to one more person who needs us. It funds not just accommodation, but also counselling, skills coaching, training, and personal support — the full circle of care that gives people the best possible chance to build lasting stability.

No1 CopperPot’s decision to step forward is a brilliant example of what meaningful corporate partnership can look like. It shows how businesses, no matter their sector, can step up to meet the real needs in their communities and make a tangible difference.

People Helping People: The Heartbeat of Reconnected

The words “people helping people” could have been written into our DNA here at Reconnected. Because at the centre of every success story here, that’s exactly what happens: one person reaches out a hand to another. And a new chapter begins.

The room that No1 CopperPot now sponsors will quietly witness hundreds of pivotal moments in the next year:

  • The first safe night’s sleep in a long time.
  • The first hot meal shared in comfort and dignity.
  • The conversation with a support worker that sparks confidence again.
  • The email confirming a job offer.
  • The reconnection with family, one careful step at a time.

These are the moments that sponsorship unlocks. It’s not just about a door. It’s about what happens once that door is open.

A Call To Others

By sharing No1 CopperPot’s story, we hope others might feel inspired to stand alongside us. The need remains high. Every additional room we can open means another person off the streets, out of crisis, and onto a path of rebuilding.

Right now, Reconnected operates multiple hubs, with 31 individual rooms available for sponsorship, alongside our shared spaces where people gather to cook, learn, support one another, and simply feel safe. The more sponsorship we secure, the more people we can say “yes” to.

For businesses, sponsorship isn’t just an act of giving. It’s a public statement of values. It says to your staff, your customers and your community that you believe everyone deserves a second chance. That you believe everyone deserves a place to call home.

The Ripple Effect of Generosity

When organisations like No1 CopperPot step forward, the impact ripples far beyond that one room. Their staff feel pride knowing their employer stands for something meaningful. Their members see a credit union that cares deeply about community. Their brand becomes one associated with leadership and purpose.

For us at Reconnected, it means stability and sustainability to continue offering life-changing support. For our residents, it means safety, opportunity, and the dignity of being seen. For the community as a whole, it means fewer people slipping through the cracks.

Thank You, No1 CopperPot

To everyone at No1 CopperPot — Caroline, your team, your members, and all who made this possible — thank you. Your generosity is more than financial. You have opened a door to possibility. And on the other side of that door, life begins again.
