Great Job - WellRun

A team of staff from Centrick Property and Reconnected sacrificed for their Sunday lie in to take on the Bupa Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 20th October. This was all in aid of raising funds to support the development of a Community Training Kitchen located in Small Heath, Birmingham.

The training kitchen is an idea which Centrick Property were keen to develop to provide a social and learning hub for disadvantaged members of the community. The ethos of the training kitchen is centred on promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting individuals to develop life skills so they can maintain their independence.A range of courses will be on offer giving learners opportunity to develop basic cookery skills, encourage home cooking using fresh ingredients as well as cooking on a budget.

It is envisaged the training kitchen will bring together a number of organisations to deliver a range of workshops and course to suit the needs of different client groups. Thus creating a central hub for people to gather, learn together, socialise and have fun.

The project is currently in its infancy and a lot more work is required in order to make it a success. Thanks to all the runners and their generous sponsors, we have so far raised over £1100 collectively which will be put towards the development.

If you would like to know more about this development or would like to make a donation to support the training kitchen, please contact us by email or phone.

Equally, Reconnected are always looking for new business partners to work with to ensure essential services, whether existing or new, continue to be available to the community. If you are interested in working Reconnected then come and speak to us about your ideas.
